America's Future

National School Choice Week in partnership with organizations and communities in all 50 states, shines a spotlight on the need for effective education options for all children.

National School Choice Week believes that parents should be empowered to choose the best educational environments for their children and supports a variety of school choice options -- from encouraging increased access to great public schools, to public charter schools, magnet schools, virtual schools, private schools, homeschooling and more.

Will you join the movement to give parents the right to choose schools that are best for their children?

School choice is a human right! Parents are children’s primary educators and they should have the right to direct to whom they delegate any of their responsibility. Schools and parents are not equal partners. Schools serve parents and should be accountable to them. School choice will make that happen!

Whatever it takes to educate children, I am willing. Education is a Civcil Right. Choice must be an option.

Anyone who opposes school choice is putting the agendas of the special-interest groups ahead of what’s best for the kids. The students who suffer the most from lack of choice are the disadvantaged kids about whom many of the school-choice opponents hypocritically profess to care.

It was truly refreshing and exciting to participate with other “education freedom fighters” as I like to call them – and to continue in the struggle of ensuring equality education for ALL children. Thanks to the wonderful organization I have a career with – Parents Advancing Choice in Education – PACE (Dayton, OH), thank you Dr. Howard Fuller & BAEO, Dr. T.J. Wallace, Marylynn Naughton, Virginia Walden Ford, PACE Funders, Children First America/Ron Harris, Kelly Amis, George Loney (and the wonderful hardworking staff at PACE) – and far too many others that time won’t allow me to mention – for the example and/or education you gave me to follow in helping Parents realize we can’t educate their children without them, and we need the mission, money and motivation to bring it all together.

As a charter school teacher and grandmother with grandchildren in public and homeschools, I know that the same shoe does not fit everybody. I am all for greater choice to increase options and to improve education.
