Our offer to schools that participate in National School Choice Week

It goes without saying that without high-performing, in-demand schools of all types, there would be no National School Choice Week.

If you are a parent, the act of choosing a school for your children is very personal, and very private. You deliberate about your choice, and you weigh many factors in selecting the perfect learning environment for your children. But ensuring that all parents, in the first place, can access the very best schools for their children -- school choice, as we call it -- is a very public issue, one that is also filled with deliberation and discussion and debate.

For the sake of our future, it's time to expand and elevate that debate.

And during National School Choice Week, one of the best ways to highlight the importance of, and need for, school choice is to open the doors of the best, highest-performing schools in America, and to ask citizens in individual communities and throughout our nation to imagine if every child had access to great schools like those. There are so many excellent schools (public charter schools, private schools, magnet schools, virtual schools, and traditional public schools) that are doing a fantastic job of providing children with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in our increasingly global workforce. And it's past time for America to meet the teachers, administrators, students and parents who make those schools so effective!

So, to all of those fantastic schools out there, we at National School Choice Week have an offer for you. We want you to use the spotlight of National School Choice Week to demonstrate your school's effectiveness to people in your community...and beyond! So, when you open the doors of your school for a special event during National School Choice Week-- a community open house, a balloon launch, a press conference...you name it! -- we'll help you out by sending you a special "Schools Kit" filled with our signature yellow scarves, rally signs, balloons, lapel stickers, and more. We'll also help you publicize your event, and we'll provide access to tools and resources to help make your event a success.

If you're "in," head over to www.schoolchoiceweek.com/schools to learn more and to sign up.

Together, we can help America envision an education system where high-performing schools...like yours...are the rule, not the exception.
